Pragmatic, determined, independent.
How do you juggle being a Mum and having a biz?
I try to ensure I am present when I am in Mum mode and use asleep time to be in business mode.
Tell us about your biz and WHY you do what you do
I know from experience that buying something for a special occasion can be expensive when you are pregnant or nursing. I founded Bump Style to provide designer dress rentals delivered via courier to your door, so you can look fabulous and not have to stress about what to wear.
If you could go back in time and offer advice to your former entrepreneur-self what would you say?
Start the marketing well before your business launch. I was mistaken in thinking I had to wait until I had my website ready to go before I started my marketing campaign. In hindsight, I would have started much earlier and built up a following before launch day.
What does success mean to you?
Being a solo Mum, success will be defined by financial freedom as a necessity but even if that doesn’t happen, I will be successful if I have learnt and grown from this experience and if my son seems happy.
What has been your hardest lesson learned?
There are days when suppliers or service providers can be a little nasty and it will test your resilience and make you want to give up. I had some issues during the start up phase that made me question why I was doing this, but I took a day off and slept on it and came back with fresh resolve the next day.

Back in the corporate world as a HR Leader.
What are you most proud of to date?
When I received a photo of my first customer wearing a gown to her work Christmas party and then read all the compliments she had received, I did tear up with pride.

A random fact about yourself….
As a teenager I travelled around Australia and New Zealand with the Heart Foundation doing skipping demonstrations to promote Jump Rope for Heart.
