Starting From Scratch — 6 Business Strategies From 7-Figure Business Owners
Starting From Scratch — 6 Business Strategies From 7-Figure Business Owners
I have my trusty notebook with me right now and what I wanted to share with you, my love, are 6 business strategies that I wrote down when I attended a virtual mastermind retreat with my mentor and my own peers. Yes, even mentors and coaches have mentors and coaches!
Lady, there should never come a time when you want to be the know-it-all, the smartest person in the room. If you are… get out of the room! And find yourself a mentor that is a few steps ahead of where you are or find yourself a key circle of influence where people constantly smash through their glass ceilings. When they do that, they’re also creating a space for you to rise and elevate.
I am in a high-level mastermind and I absolutely love it! Our retreat was online because… well, all things are nowadays cause of Covid-19. Last year, for this mastermind retreat, I travelled to Canada to attend the in-person retreat. My husband Karl was in the mastermind too, and we traveled together with our boys.
But this year threw some global curveballs! It honestly was incredible to attend this year’s retreat in the comfort of our own homes. We’ve got so much out of it being a virtual retreat… and what I want to share with you are one of the best key points in our discussion.
“What would you all do if you have to start a business, all over again?”
This question was asked by someone in the group who is extremely experienced as a business owner and as a digital entrepreneur. Recently, she’s decided to close the business that she built up to over 7-figures and start again. So interesting!
We went around the group and lots of advice and business strategies were thrown out there. There was just so much golden wisdom in the room, but I’ve got 6 points here that I want to share with you.
So if you’re someone who’s in the early stages of starting your business… and I’m talking about even if you’re inexperienced. This is not just for people who are savvy business owners who are starting over again, but these business strategies are for everyone!
I want you to grab a pen and a paper and scribble down these golden advice straight from highly successful 7-figure business owners.
In no particular order, here are…
6 Strategies From 7-Figure Business Owners
1. Come Up With 3 to 5 Strategic Objectives AKA Goals That Are Outcome-Based
Check out this another podcast episode, where I walked you through my effective goal-setting process. Listen here>>>
The secret to these goals are three things:
- Make sure that you have a very clear outcome.
- That the goals are measurable.
- You have a date or deadline on them.
Remember, a goal without a deadline is literally just a wish. It’s not going to happen if you don’t put a date on it.
If you’re one of my Australian ladies, right now, we are in a brand-new financial quarter. This is the best time to reflect on the quarter that you’ve just finished up and set yourself strategic goals for the next 90-days.
That’s what we’ve done here in my business and what I have supported the ladies in my Inner Circle Mastermind with as they set clear 90-days goals and plans in place.
As the great Zig Ziglar said himself:
“To be a winner, you must plan to win, prepare to win, and expect to win.”
Girlfriend, set those goals, plan them, and expect to achieve them!
2. Build Your Audience
It’s also important to know your ideal customer first. And if you’re in my Social Method Society, you’ve got access to all the trainings and tools to help you get really clear on this.
If you’re not a member, I encourage you to also check my other courses available in my website, or pop your name down so I can include you in the waitlist to my Social Method Society.
3. Come Up With A List Of All Your Traffic Sources
This one ties closely to building your audience cause you can build your audience from all these places where people are hanging out online and in real life.
Russell Branson’s book titled “Traffic Secret” is a great resource to learn more about driving traffic to your offer. He talks about “The Dream 100” where you basically come up with 100 places of where your audience hang out. I highly recommend this book!
4. Think About The Big Vision
Again, if you’re part of my Social Method Society, we do this in Stage 1 as part of the foundation work.
It’s casting your big vision not just for your business, but also for your life! We do this because your business is your vehicle to help you create your dream life.
So, you’re creating your own vehicle every single day by what you feed it, how you structure it and how you nurture it.
Ask yourself, “What would I like my business to look like 5 years from now?”
This gives you a bigger view and allows you to become future-focused. It also takes you out from making big decision based on your current circumstances which are not set in stone.
So, think bigger. Think bigger of what you’re creating and where it’s headed.
5. Become Known For One Thing
One thing. What do you want to be known for in your business? Who are you for your audience?
Whether you sell a physical product, a service in-person, or you have a digital product… you and your brand will be always known for something. So what do you want to be known for? What would you want your audience identify you with?
Once you find out, lean into it. This will make your marketing so much simpler and clearer. It also makes your content creation easier and helps you create offers that sell.
I know it can be tempting to have so many facets in your business. Entrepreneurs are creative people and we come up with ideas all the time. So, it takes a bit of discipline to actually choose your lane and double down on that one thing.
6. Lean Into Partnerships And Collaborations
If you’ve been listening into Mums With Hustle podcast over the years, you’ve heard me speak about partnerships or collaborations over competition over and over again.
A lot of people are still not really developing the right relationships and putting themselves out there to collaborate and partner with others. Regardless of the type of business you have, partnership or collaboration is a great way to get your name out there.
Strategic partnership or collaboration helps you…
- Build your audience
- Build your credibility
- Scaling your offers
- Selling more of your products
Come up with a list of at least 20 people you’d like to partner with and of course, put the time in to develop these relationships. Continuing to nurture these relationships is just important as well.
There you have it my love, 6 strategies you can use when you’re building your business from scratch!
These are things we are always working on with our members inside the Social Method Society. Shoutout to all those ladies!

And if you are an established digital entrepreneur and you have an online course, membership, mastermind of your own, or a high-end coaching program and you want to take your business to the next level with a smaller and advanced group with myself and my husband Karl as your mentors…
