5 Online Business Success Secrets From Mums With Hustle

Mums With Hustle is officially 5 years old! Woo hoo! Happy birthday to all of us here in this beautiful online business community! I wanted to blog about this because it’s such a special milestone (and you know we love celebrating wins! Yours and ours) but if you prefer to listen to the audio then I also shared these thoughts and lessons in a podcast episode which you can access here.

I am so happy and so blessed to be building business that allows me to share my joy which is teaching women, building communities and helping women business owners to advance economically in this world. It’s an absolute honour to have this platform and there is not a day that goes by that I take it for granted.

When you find something that you’re passionate about, something that lights you up… you are called to share that and shout that thing from the rooftops! That’s exactly what every single day in this business has allowed me to do. So thank you so much, my love, for being a very important part of this journey.

I know so many of you who have been able to grow your business and achieved your dream family life… you’ve been able to achieve that over the last 5 years through the content that you’ve learnt either through the podcast or through my paid programs or through the network that is #mumswithhustle and that is freaking AMAZING!

It’s amazing to see more of you finding your voice, owning your worth, and creating something beautiful that allows you to share your gifts and talents with the world. And of course, getting paid to do that so that you can advance yourself financially and express yourself creatively.

5 Success Secrets From 5 Incredible Years of Growing An Online Business At Mums With Hustle:

1. Set Your Goals

Goal-setting is huge. If you don’t set goals, you are choosing to live life by default… Without goals, you are just floating through life with no direction.

What a goal does is that it creates a very clear target for you. Having goal is like having your very own own roadmap.

People with goals are most likely to achieve them cos they are more aligned with their dreams, rather than on problems and obstacles (and other people’s dreams). And achieving your goals makes you more fulfilled, so don’t be afraid to set them.

People who are afraid to set their goals are sometimes afraid to be held accountable to these goals. It brings up resistance, discomfort and fears. But you can overcome all of these.

Get really, really clear on what you want and then set yourself a goal with a deadline. Chunk that goal out and go get it, girlfriend!

2. Set Backs Will Happen, Be Grateful For Them And Choose To Get Back Up

Things will happen, things will break and you will not get your desired outcome every single time. You will face many challenges and growing pains in growing your business. You will feel uncomfortable a lot of the time.

Be grateful for the setback and choose to get back up.

3. Surround Yourself With The Right People

Surround yourself with the people who will support you, challenge you and cheer for you.

We all have people in our lives who are quite negative… sometimes, they are our family and friends, and that’s okay! But what you need to do when you’re growing a business is surround yourself with people who encourage you to aim high, who encourage you to take risks, and who encourage you to set lofty, ambitious goals.

Those people who believe that you are worthy of big things rather than those who bring you down. The latter are not in your best interest when you’re building a business.

Surround yourself with absolute fortress of A+ players. People who are knowledgeable in business. I heard a quote once (unfortunately I can’t recall the awesome human who first said this),

It’s really important to be around other business owners and entrepreneurs, and positive ones at that.

That is why I have the Social Method Society, because I believe that even if you’re in the early stages of business, you still need that support network, coaching, training and the accountability. I am so passionate about holding that space and providing that training to women who are in the formative years of starting and growing their businesses.

That is also why I have my own high-level Inner Circle Mastermind for more established business owners. So that I can support them in a deeper way and bring together the high level of strategy and peer support that they need to get them to where they want to be.

4. Make Decisions That Align With Where You’re Going And Not By The Limitations Of Where You Are Now

I think a lot about money mindset when it comes to this one. Be future-focused with your decisions and always align them with your goals. That’s why it’s important my love, to have a goal!

Successful people are always going towards the vision AKA the goal. Your current circumstances do not have to define what’s possible for you.

I see this one show up a lot when women want to outsource something in their business… you can only wear so many hats for long before you burnout and fall out of love of your business. Trust me, you wouldn’t want that.

Don’t make decisions based on your current circumstance. Make decisions and investments based on where you want to be.

5. Make Time For Daily Learning

I’ve done this from day 1, even for just 30 minutes a day. I do this largely in the form of audio trainings, listening with my headphones on or bluetoothing to a speaker whilst doing household chores.

As I go around the house, doing housework, I’ve got that information coming at me so I can learn and I can stay on top of my game. It allows me to develop myself professionally. I can listen to and absorb really positive and uplifting information from incredible people around the world.

Every day I’m either listening to a podcast or audiobooks or courses I’ve invested in.

I’m a busy mama just like you, ladies. So it’s either playing in the background as I go about my day or I’m going for a walk or when I’m in the car (instead of music).

Be intentional about getting your learning time in and hearing from inspiring leaders and mentors. Keep yourself motivated and invest in your learnings. I highly encourage everyone to get into this practice and make it a habit! After all, no one is going to do the learning for you.

**BONUS TIP! How You Grow Your Online Business Will Change According To The Season Of Life That You’re In

I’ve had seasons in my life where things were slow, like they’re going at a snail’s pace. But I’ve been okay because I’m choosing it and I want to be more present with my babies.

I’m a hands-on mum. My youngest, Jude, was practically strapped on to me as we were big on the baby-wearing. People who follow me closely know that I have been nursing for 6 and a half years, so always feeding a human and always waking up at night… and that’s okay (for me)!

Build your online business at your own pace, but be careful of what you make that mean.

Being a hands-on mum does not mean that it makes you less legit of an online business owner compared to other people. It doesn’t mean that you’re not worthy of investing in either, through learning programs or getting mentors. It doesn’t mean that your success is less inevitable.

There are many things in our lives that we cannot control. But we can definitely choose how we respond. So build your business at your own pace.. you get to set the pace and the expectation.
